Curú Wildlife Refuge is only a 15 minutes drive away from Hotel Vista las Islas and home to many fascinating animals such as ghost crabs, white-tailed deer, raccoons, iguanas, scarlet macaws, crocodiles and white-faced monkeys, howler monkeys and spider monkeys. When visiting the park between its opening hours (7 a.m. to 3 p.m.) you have the choice between various hiking trails leading through the tropical forest or to famous Playa Quesera with its tropical white-sandy beach.
SAN LUCAS PRISON ISLAND
San Lucas Island was a penal colony until 1991. It had the reputation of being the roughest jail in Costa Rica and its 117 years history is rich with tales of violence. Come on a boat trip with us and hear all about San Lucas dreadful past while visiting the old buildings and the prison cells with its famous graffitis.
